Weekly Table Setting: All Dressed Up
For this week's table setting, I picked a few favorite pieces to include, and then built the table off of that. It started with a subtle color palette, with these Chilewich Oval Mini Basketweave Placemats in Grey Zinc, and the Pillivuyt Porcelain Quartet Collection. We kept it simple, only featuring one glass, two plates and three pieces of flatware, and placed an iittala Aalto Tall Vase in Clear right in the center of the table. The colorful flowers and the soft purple napkins added just enough color to balance it out.
Each setting included two Pillivuyt Quartet plates, the 10" Dinner Plate and the 7" Bread or Side Plate.
In the center of the table we placed a stack of Pillivuyt Quartet 5.5" Medium Bowls.
The apple of my eye on this table was the flatware, which came from the Alessi Dressed Collection. We used a table knife, a table fork and a table spoon. The intricate and beautiful, almost antique-like scroll design on the back of each utensil has so much character and personality, they're just so beautiful! And since they bring so much to the table, they were perfectly complimented by the more neutral dinnerware. We set the flatware over a warm purple napkin, the Libeco Home Fjord Linen Napkins in Heather. The combination was lovely.
The single, solitary glass we used was a Schott Zwiesel Pure Goblet. While this glass is ideal for water, it could double as an all-purpose wine or cocktail glass as well.
However you celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July holiday!
