Glassware Feature: Simon Pearce Hampton Chardonnay Glass
Didriks has teamed up with the superb wine retailer Lower Falls Wine to pair their wonderful wines and spirits with the ideal glassware. Didriks is featuring a new glass every week so check back next week for more of our favorite glassware and follow us on social media to hear about weekly glassware promotions!
This past week Lower Falls Wine* was tasting Chardonnays, and it wasn't hard to choose a favorite glass to feature for light white wine. The Simon Pearce Hampton collection was designed in response to their customers requesting lighter stemware with thinner glass while keeping their hearty, handmade American design aesthetic, and the Vermont glassware designer delivered.
The Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio glass is a wonderful all-purpose wine glass, weighted without being dramatically heavy, and large enough to serve for light red wines as well. This clean, simple design features a perfectly straight stem and minimal embellishments at the base and bowl. The bowls are traditional and gently rounded.
The solid, sturdy quality of Simon Pearce glassware makes it an excellent choice for outdoor dining, and I love pairing them with the easy-care Garnier-Thiebaut coated table linens, so ideal for open air service. Add a beautiful cheese board and you have a party.
Ready for outdoor dining this season? We've got all the essentials!

Recommended wines:
C & V Dureuil 2012 Rully 1er Cru "Raclot"
Classic Whaite Burgundy, crisp apple and pear notes, minerality, and a long dry finish.
Elio Grasso 2013 Chardonnay Educato
Piemontese Chardoonay is a rartiy. Leaning toward the French style, great texture and length.
Hamilton Russell Vineyards 2013 Chardonnay
The richness of the New World meets the structure and texture of the Old World.
Varner 2013 Chardonnay ElCamino Vineyard
Cooler climate Chardonnay, quite layered and nuanced, the oak is in check. Nice balance.
Lapostelle Cuvee Alexander 2012 Chardonnay Atalayas Vineyard
You'd mistake this for classic Napa Valley Chardonnay. Rich, full and hedonistic but not over blown.
