Weekly Table Setting: Soft Colors and Stainless
This week I again took on the task of dressing this table, which is always an adventure, and lots of fun for me! As something a bit differently, I decided to feature one particular table in the store, and then built a small two-person setting on top of it. The table in question is this Barlow Tyrie Equinox 27" High Dining Table, flanked by two Barlow Tyrie Equinox High Dining Carver Chairs.
Instead of using a placemat for each setting on this small table, I decided to maximize space and place one Chilewich Bamboo Round Placemat in Celadon right in the center of the table.
For each place setting, I used pieces from the Alessi Tonale Dinnerware Collection, starting with a Flat Dinner Plate, a Soup Plate , and a Alessi Tonale Little Bowl, all in Light Grey. Pieces in this collection also come in dark grey, pale yellow, white yellow, red earth and light earth, offering a bit of variation and mix-and-match fun. For the flatware, I used pieces from the David Mellor Stainless Steel Collection. Stainless steel accents were the name of the game in this setting.
We used Libeco Home Frascati Linen Napkins in Fig, set in the center of the table in an Alessi Mediterraneo Napkin Holder. This artistic stainless steel napkin holder is a fun centerpiece, and adds a lot to any table setting. It also has matching tealight candle holders, but due to space restraints, I left those out.
Glassware came from two Alessi Collections, the Alessi Mami Tumbler and the Alessi Ovale Wine Glass.
To continue with the stainless steel accents theme, I used these Alessi Salt and Pepper Shakers from the Alessi 3 Piece Condiment Set (which also includes a toothpick holder)...
... and one of these really neat Alessi Taste-Huille Olive Oil Tasters. There was also a Heath Ceramics Bud Vase in Aqua with a single white rose, for one tiny touch of color.
Overall, a subdued table setting, with a few fun accent pieces and a pretty mellow feel.
What are you looking forward to most now that summer has officially begun?
