Weekly Table Setting: Sitting in a Blue Lagoon
What a week! We ended last weekend with cold, rainy weather, and now we're right in the middle of a heatwave! With temps in the 90's, it's hard to think of much other than cooling down - and my favorite way to do that is by getting to the water. Whether a beach or a pool, of a great big blue lagoon (we can dream, right?), being near the water is ideal. It's nice to be able to sneak in for a quick dip, before retreating to your lounge chair or beach towel for endless hours of relaxation.
This week's table setting is reminiscent of beachy colors to me - bold "Lagoon" colored placemats, with "Raspberry" accents, and plenty of pizzazz.
Each setting started with a Chilewich Rectangular Basketweave Placemat in Lagoon. We chose to use the delicate and flowing Jars Ceramics Plume Dinnerware, including the Plume Dinner Plate and the Jars Ceramics Plume Soup Bowl, both in White Pearl. In between the dinnerware pieces, we placed a Libeco Home Polylin Blend Napkin in Raspberry for some added dimension and color.
We used the flatware from the David Mellor Cafe Collection, and glassware from Simon Pearce - the Simon Pearce Hampton Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio Glass for wine, and the Simon Pearce Ascutney Pint Glass for water (or beer!).
To either side of the table, we placed Simon Pearce Serving Bowls, including the above Simon Pearce Royalton Nesting Bowl, and the below Simon Pearce Royalton Serving Bowl.
Both of these bowls came from the Simon Pearce Royalton Collection, a stoneware line of mis-matched dinnerware pieces. It's fun and a bit playful, but still has an air of sophistication.
To round it all out, this Heath Ceramics Pitcher in Opaque White sat in the center of the table, with a colorful bouquet of flowers.
Hope you're all able to stay cool, but enjoy this summery weather!
