You Are Invited! The Didriks Food For Free February Fundraiser Kickoff Party
Next month, we'll be holding our third annual Food For Free fundraiser. Throughout February, we will donate 5% of all sales to Food For Free, one of our favorite local charities. Their produce rescue program collects fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste from food sources like wholesalers, grocery stores, farms, farmers' markets, and CSA distribution sites and distributes it to over 74 food pantries in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. Their home delivery program brings this food to the homes of low-income elderly or disabled patrons unable to get to food banks themselves, allowing them to cook their own meals in their own homes rather than relying on prepared food from meals-on-wheels programs.
To kick off this month-long fundraiser, we're throwing an in-store party with wine and hors d'oeuvre provided by Chef Robbert Harris of Season to Taste Catering (you can read more about his food on the Dinner Series). Everyone is welcome to drop by between 5-8 on February 3rd for drinks and some finger food or throughout the month, where part of your purchase will help bring healthy food to the people who need it most.
