Weekly Table Setting: The Return of the Apple
While it's not yet official, it's starting to feel like fall is here. The morning air is crisp, and the sky strikingly blue. Apple trees are starting to give under the weight of all that sweet fall fruit, and pumpkins are popping up everywhere. It seemed for this week, it'd only be fitting to start dressing our indoor tables to reflect the fall changes outdoors.
We used a combination of deep red and rust tones for the table, and dressed it up with pewter accents.
Each place setting featured a duo of placemats for a fun layered look, with the Chilewich Rectangular Bamboo Placemat in Cranberry and the Chilewich Knit Round Placemat in Brown.
The plates continued with the earth tones, but added a lighter touch to the table. For the larger plate, we used a Heath Ceramics Coupe Dinner Plate in Cocoa/Fawn, and for the smaller plate we used a Jars Ceramics Empreinte Dessert Plate. Nestled between the two was a Libeco Home Brisbane Linen Napkin in Red Earth.
For the cutlery we used the Sabre Nature Flatware in Natural, which has a casual, woodsy look to it. It fit the vibe of the table and the theme to a T.
For a touch of sophistication, we used a Match Pewter Crystal Cognac Glass with a subtle pewter stem, and a Simon Pearce Ascutney Highball Glass.
In the center of the table, holding the star of the season - apples! - was a Match Pewter Wide Rimmed Bowl.
Here's to a great fall season!
