Design Home Review: Dining Room
From the kitchen, through a beautiful and conveniently located butler's pantry, sits the dining room in the Boston Magazine Design Home 2012. We had the room decked out to the nine's with Match Pewter dinnerware and table accessories, Simon Pearce glassware and Libeco Home table linens. Atop the gorgeous cherry table, it was quite a sight to behold! Each place was set with Libeco Home Frascati Linen Napkins in Paprika and Plum - the plum was used as a place setting underlay, and the paprika was used as the actual napkin. The color combination was warm and cheerful, and very fitting for the room.
The dinnerware came from the Match Pewter Convivio Collection, a porcelain dinnerware with pewter accents. Each setting had both the Convivio Buffet Plate and the Convivio Soup/Pasta Bowl.
The flatware also came from Match Pewter - we chose the Danielle 5-Piece place setting, which is a pewter set with feminine contours and small serrated etchings on the top and bottom of each handle. The Match Pewter tableware was accompanied by Simon Pearce stemware, including the Hamptom Cabernet/Shiraz Glass and the Hampton Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio Glass. The Hampton collection of glassware has a very subtle design element, which makes it suitable for nearly any table setting.
Set in the middle of the table, we had a few additional pieces from the Match Pewter collection, including this Gravy Boat and Gabriela Sauce Spoon, which were set atop a Small Oval Incised Tray.
To one end, we set-up a tea service tray on a Match Pewter Gallery Tray with Handles with a Match Pewter Brittania Milk Pitcher, Match Pewter Sugar Packet Holder, and Match Pewter Cognac Glasses. It was a splendid vision in porcelain and pewter!
We also had some Match Pewter Convivio Tea Cups and Saucers set on the sideboard in the dining room. The cheery cherry furniture showed off all of our tableware, and really made the room look comfortably elegant.
Last but not least, the Match Pewter Convivio Large Butter Dome graced the table, a show piece in and of itself. It was a lovely room, outfitted with some of our finest dinnerware. The only thing it was missing? A crew of hungry people to dine on our at the table!
