Design Home Review: Back Deck

We're back with the final installment of our Boston Magazine 2012 Design Home review series. Today's snapshot is a short one, but with a big impact. It's just about that time of year when people start to plan for the impending warmer weather, considering options for outdoor furniture and patio decor. This just so happens to be one of our favorite topics! We carry an extensive line of outdoor furniture by British manufacturer Barlow Tyrie. They make a variety of teak and woven furniture items, including tables, chairs, sofas, parasols and more. When we found out we'd be outfitting the deck space at the Design Home, we knew immediately what we'd be featuring there. The magnificent piece you see below is the Barlow Tyrie Java Dune Daybed with Ottoman and Cushions. The cushions are a custom Sunbrella color, in a pleasing mint green that subtly screams 'summer'. Cream colored accent pillows add dimension and color to this big, cozy chair, and tie in the white dinnerware.

The Dune Daybed features a flat table-like surface to one side, perfect for setting down a book or a beverage. In this case we included a small service tray to complete the picture. Set on that tray were iittala items, including the iittala Teema Teacup and Bread and Butter Saucer, an iittala Teema Teapot, and this cute little iittala Teema Milk Jar with a cork stopper.

We also featured a Barlow Tyrie Parasol (not pictured), which pulled the deck together and made it so very inviting. It was really the perfect outdoor seating set-up, meant for casual lounging and wasting away those long summer days in completely and utter relaxation.

We really enjoyed being a part of this promotion and watching the home come to life, and look forward to seeing what comes together in years to come.
