Didriks Holiday Tablescape
We had a holiday fair event at our Newton Lower Falls location (go check it out if you haven't been yet!) and local designers created gorgeous displays as part of the event decor. This is the fourth in a series of posts featuring these beautifully styled spaces, each was too detailed for only a few photos to do them justice.
I teamed up with stylist Kara Butterfield (we met through her work with Boston Magazine) to create a lush, elegant holiday display. We both like a design that combines simplicity and detail. Here the clean white of the Royal Copenhagen White Fluted Plain tableware allows the traditional silhouettes and luminous gleam of pewter to shine. Individual butter domes framed on pewter bread and butter plates and a full place setting add an overabundance of luxury to this table, to say nothing of sculpted lines of the tiered pewter candelabras.
The muted blue of the rug selected here ties in beautifully with the soft gray of the tablerunners, multiple parallel tablerunners adding a distinctly European elegance.
Pewter accessories were interspersed with glass holiday accents from Simon Pearce, their well-known Vermont Evergreen trees dotted the tabletop, and suspended above the table were several of their delicate holiday ornaments.
The restrained color palette of this table, glass, pewter, white, gray, allowed the variegated textures to shine. It also brought forward the muted shades in the absolutely beautiful rug.
