Last Thursday, we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of Local Root's opening, and what a year it has been! During the first 12 months, Local Root has become a real destination for all things cooking - kitchen utensils, cookware and bakeware of the highest quality. We were excited to celebrate not only their first year in business, but also many more prosperous ones to come.
As with many of our events, flower arrangements (shown above in a Le Creuset Utensil Crock and below in a Jars Ceramics Karo Vase) were created by Hallie of Hallie's Flower Garden. She always does such a wonderful job! With a red and white theme, they fit the setting perfectly, and added a wonderful lush component to the store and the celebration.
We ordered in some platters from one of our favorite neighbors Formaggio, one loaded with cheese, the other with charcuterie.
As usual, they were beautiful, and delicious!
We also picked up some wine from Formaggio, hand-selected by their amazing staff to go well with the meats and cheeses.
And what kind of party would it have been without a cake?! And a big red velvet cake, to boot. It was simply decorated (by yours truly) with leftover cake crumbs, and filled and frosted liberally with cream cheese frosting. Always a winning combination!
All in all, it was a great evening. Much fun was had by all, and we got to see some very happy faces - both old and new! We were also excited to introduce the new Local Root store manager Kathy that evening, and she was on hand to greet guests and educate them on the plethora of merchandise.
Welcome to the team, Kathy, and here's to many more years of success for Local Root!
