It's a Plaid Plaid World
Most of us instantly think of the classic Scottish kilt when we think of plaid. Originally tartan plaids were created to distinguish different clans in Scotland and the history of this woven fabric can actually be traced back to the fifth century. Despite its rich history, plaid is quite current and you can easily enjoy the pattern today with a variety of fashion and tabletop items hitting the stores this fall.
These photos from the fall 2011 fashion collections illustrate that plaids can feel quite current.
Many trends seem to find their way from the runway to the home. It is no surprise we are seeing a resurgence of plaid in home decor.
