Finnish Design Competition has an Interesting Theme this Year

The 10th-annual Habitare Design Competition has a brand new theme this year, the "outhouse". That's right, this year the Finnish design competition challenges designers to create the overall concept for their design around the thought of an outdoor toilet and related items from the point of view of architecture and design. In previous competitions the themes have focused on concepts like recycled seat, sauna and so forth, but this year's theme seems as if it might be a bit tricky.

The Habitare Design Competition is organized by the Finnish Fair Corporation and the Aalto University School of Art and Design. The first prize winner of the competition will receive EUR 10,000 from the Finnish Fair Foundation. The competition is open to designers and architects who are 35 or younger and are practicing or studying design or architecture in Finland. The entries are based on quality in terms of  design and architecture general functional and structural issues, overall durability, and clarity.

Didriks loves Finnish design and in fact, quite a few of our collections are Finnish, and we also have a few Finnish designers that create exquisite pieces for your home.
