Weekly Table Setting: Showcasing iittala

In honor of the iittala event we hosted at Didriks yesterday, we have the whole store and all of our display tables decked out in iittala glassware, dinnerware and decor items. In the coming weeks, we'll share each of those settings with you, but today I have my personal favorite, a sleek, simple setting with poppy purple napkins to hint at the impending spring season.

The table shown here is the Arundel Extending Table by Barlow Tyrie. The setting we created on it began with a Chilewich Bamboo Table Runner in Black, to set a base for the modern, sleek look. The Chilewich Metallic Lace Rectangular Placemats in Silver added a stark contrast, and a bit of pizzazz to the setting. The dinnerware all came from the Heath Ceramics Coupe Dinnerware Collection, and the colors we chose were Onyx and Linen.

The setting was built around this large display of iittala Aarne Glassware, with two Heath Ceramics focal items at the ends of the table, including the Heath Ceramics Pitcher in Linen (with purple flowers to match the napkins!), and a Heath Ceramics Shallow Salad Bowl in Linen.

Each individual place setting consisted of a Coupe Dinner Plate, a Coupe Cereal Bowl, and a Coupe Salad Plate. The setting alternated colors, so not every place setting was the same. We also included Libeco Home Polylin Blend Napkins in Fig, and used flatware from the iittala Artik Collection.

All in all, a simple, sleek and modern design - with a slight touch of color to beckon the spring! And after such a snowy day yesterday, all we can do is dream of the day when spring finally does arrive.
