Weekly Table Setting: Cool Hues
This week, we took a break from the bright pinks and vibrant greens of spring to focus on a subtler color palate, still just as suitable for the warmer weather, but with a completely different aesthetic. This setting features Jars Ceramics porcelain dinnerware from France, with accents from Sabre, Simon Pearce, iittala, Chilewich and Libeco Home.
The dinnerware we selected to create each place setting came from two Jars Ceramics collections, the Vuelta Collection and the Plume collection. We used a new glass iittala Mediator Dove in the center of the table for an added design element.
Each setting began with a Chilewich Bamboo Round Placemat in Chalk, and a Jars Ceramics Plume Dinner Plate in White Pearl. I loved the use of Plume plates in this setting, with their very organic, slightly imperfect look. Paired with mis-matched flatware and an assortment of other table setting elements on the table, it really looks like it fits in this eclectic setting.
The flatware came exclusively from Sabre and included a Sabre Natura Dinner Fork in Grey, a Sabre Natura Butter Spreader in Grey, and a Sabre Old Fashioned Teaspoon in Grey. We also featured Libeco Home Vence Linen Napkins in Steel, and the woodsy Simon Pearce Norwich Beaker drinking glass.
With each place setting, we aset a Jars Ceramics Vuelta Tea Cup and Saucer in Ocean Blue. Similar to the plume, but with a more polished look and cleaner lines, the Vuelta dinnerware looked wonderful with this setting.
To add another touch of Plume to the table, we used a Plume Serving Plate in White Pearl to house all of our coffee and tea service items.
The crisp white pearl against the soft pastel blue is such a welcome sight this time of year. It ushers in the days of endless blue skies, wispy white clouds, and time stretching out before us in unnumbered warm, cheery days.
