Weekly Table Setting: Cool Blue

After last week's stunning display of color, we thought we'd take it back a notch with this week's table setting. We picked a few new Heath Ceramics pieces to feature prominently in the center of the table, and then built out the rest of the cool blue setting around those. Instead of using a table runner or traditional placemats, we used Libeco Home Napoli Vintage Napkins in Steel at each place setting, acting as a placemat but with a bit of a different look.

Instead of picking items from several collections to compose this table, we chose to use both glassware and dinnerware from the Alessi Dressed collection. This collection, along with the entirety of the Alessi brand, is one of our newer lines, and they have a lot of really fun, unique and interesting collections to choose from.

For each setting, we included an Alessi Dressed Dinner Plate, an Alessi Dressed Dessert Plate, and an Alessi Dressed Saucer. The Dressed collection has an ornamental design on one side, with a smooth white exterior on the other. The two design elements work wonderfully together to create this whimsical collection that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. We also included a Libeco Home Vence Napkin in Steel at each setting, to match the steel-colored placemats.

We used David Mellor Embassy Flatware, a stainless steel collection with three-prong forks that exudes a minimalist elegance. It worked beautifully here.

We also included two pieces of Alessi Dressed glassware at each setting, the Water Tumbler and the White Wine Glass.

In the center of the table were the new Heath Ceramics vases we created the whole setting around. Shown below, the Heath Ceramics Single Stem Vase in Cool Lava...

To me this setting was like a breath of fresh air. It had a clean and crisp look, but was still warm enough to be suitable for late spring/early summer season, and classic enough to suit many tastes.
