Caring for Teak Furniture

Teak is the perfect material for outdoor furniture because of the wood's natural resistance to rot, insects, and outdoor elements.  Teak's superior quality is an investment that really pays off  since your furniture can last a lifetime with proper care.  Over time, teak will naturally weather from golden brown to a silver grey color. Many people find this weathered grey look highly desirable, while others prefer to maintain their teak's original honey color.  If you would like to keep the wood's  darker coloring we recommend you use Barlow Tyrie Teak Color Guard.  The color guard needs to be applied to the furniture when it is new or after the application of Barlow Tyrie Teak Cleaner.  The color  guards pigment enhancers and UV guard will help maintain your furniture's golden brown color. 

If you choose to let your teak outdoor furniture age naturally and develop a grey patina, we recommend keeping the furniture clean with regular use of  Barlow Tyrie Teak Cleaner to quickly remove accumulated dirt.  You can help prevent potential staining from oils and redwine by applying Barlow Tyrie Teak Stain Guard.  Regular application of the stain guard will make clean ups quick and easy.
