Emerald is Pantone's Color of 2013

Trying to choose colors to introduce to your home décor can sometimes be a difficult task. The colors you choose need to be able to compliment your home as well as your personal style, which means that choosing the wrong color can be very detrimental to your overall home design. When choosing a main color, pay attention to Pantone’s color of the year. They recently revealed 2013’s color of the year to be Emerald Green.

Last year’s color of the year was Tangerine Tango, which is practically the opposite of Emerald Green. Whereas Tangerine Tango is a bold color that bursts with energy, Emerald Green, although still a vivid color, is much more relaxing. It was chosen by Pantone due to its ability to promote harmony and balance while still maintaining a luxurious and sophisticated appearance. Green also happens to be the one color that the human eye naturally sees more than any other color, meaning that using it as a main color in your home design won’t be difficult to get used to.

Emerald Green will work throughout your home. In the kitchen it will add a refreshing feel to the atmosphere. It’s relaxing properties will work well for the bedroom as well, and its ability to compliment other colors and styles will work to its advantage in any living room area.
