2013 Design Home Wrap-Up

For the second year in a row, Didriks and Local Root participated in the Boston Magazine Design Home feature, this year located on the coast in beautiful Swampscott. The picturesque property sat mere feet from the ocean, with a view overlooking the bay, and even the distant city skyline. We brought goods to fill the kitchen, dining and living areas, and of course some outdoor furniture for the glorious covered porch.Scroll down for some exceptional photos! Kitchen

We brought kitchen tools a plenty from Local Root, which we placed around the kitchen to create what could only be called a chef's paradise. The spacious open kitchen will someday be the perfect backdrop for a very happy home chef.

Living/Dining Area

The layout of the Design Home was very open and airy, and as such the dining area and living area were somewhat of the same space. Out of the kitchen flowed the 'dining room', which featured a lovely hardwood table. We dressed it with some of our dinnerware and a few additional serving pieces.

In the center of the table, we placed a Match Pewter Oil and Vinegar, Salt and Pepper Caddy alongside a Match Pewter Beaded Round Tureen for serving in style.

By the large bay windows, overlooking the yard and the ocean, there was another smaller table that we set for two, with more dinnerware and a lovely iittala glass bird.

Porch

The small covered porch overlooking the ocean was a stunning place to set-up a Barlow Tyrie teak table, and dress it with some more of our favorite dinnerware pieces.

This year's design home was a true work of art, from the larger details right down to smallest. We were pleased to get some of our own merchandise in there, and to take some really lovely photos! And of course we're very envious of whatever lucky residents end up calling this place home.
