Weekly Table Setting: Rustic Country Picnic
When I first saw this setting, my immediate reaction was that it looks like a picnic scene, brought indoors. The Libeco Home Amherst Napkins really do it, with their red and white stripes, so fondly reminiscent of a picnic blanket you'd use in the heart of summer.
Luckily, there's still some time to enjoy those summer picnics, but it's always nice to know that you can take the party inside when the days get shorter, and the air much cooler.
Featured here is the Jars Ceramics Vuelta Fruit Cup in Pearl, set over an Amherst Linen Napkin.
The rest of the setting includes a Heath Ceramics Coupe Salad Plate in Redwood and a Jars Ceramics Plume Medium Dinner Plate in White Pearl, over a Chilewich Oval Mini Basketweave Placemat in Parchment. The neutral colors were understated and soothing here, and let the stripey napkins stand out just so.
We chose the David Mellor Cafe Collection for our flatware selection, which has a casual style, and is wonderful for everyday use. Perfect for a picnic theme!
We chose a duo of Simon Pearce glasses to go with this setting, a Simon Pearce Cavendish Wine Glass and a Simon Pearce Barre Goblet. The goblet especially is a great all-purpose glass, and pairs beautifully with almost any setting.
For a touch of added design, we used one of these curvy Simon Pearce Chelsea Low Bowls, set over a Chilewich Round Basketweave Placemat in Earth. It tied the glassware into the setting, and give the whole table a bit more personality.
