Weekly Table Setting: Royal Copenhagen Meets Blackfriars

This week's table features one of our newest collections, the Royal Copenhagen line. This brand is arguably one of the oldest and best-known brands we carry, reknowned for their ornate hand-painted porcelain dinnerware. They've been producing these stunning pieces since 1775, so they have had a lot of years to perfect their craft, and when you pick up a plate or a mug, you can absolutely tell the quality. To compliment the dinnerware we pulled pieces from several different brands, and also used these beautiful holiday-themed Blackfriars Check Tablerunners by Libeco Home. The rich color palate of blue, green and red features a subtle mustard accent, which pairs beautifully with the Libeco Home Blackfriars Napkins in Mustard.

The specific Royal Copenhagen pieces we chose were the White Fluted Plain Dinner Plate and the White Fluted Plain Salad/Dessert Plate. The white plates set a stark contrast against the dark background, showing off their delicate fluted designs. We also used iittala Essence Plus Wine Glasses, which have a really lovely shape and a more formal flair.

We chose the simple and versatile David Mellor English Stainless Steel Flatware, which has a really classic appeal, and set that over a Libeco Home Blackfriar Napkin in Mustard.

The iittala Ultima Bowl and iittala Ultima Ice-Lip Pitcher acted as table accents. With their icy designs, they're easy to envision on any holiday table.

We included a couple of Match Pewter accents too, including these Match Pewter Prato Candlesticks...

Along with the iittala and Match accents, we placed a stocked up a Spencer Peterman Serving Tray on the table, which featured the Alessi Bombe tea serving pieces (Teapot, Milk Jug, and Sugar Bowl), and six matching Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Mega Mugs. The mugs are from the hand-painted collection that Royal Copenhagen offers, and they are exquisite.

For finishing decorations, we used these iittala Fire Candleholders in Small and Large. They have a sponge-like appearance, and when lit have the most beautiful glow.

We also included this festive iittala Toikka Ruby Red Bird. It looked beautiful against the Blackfriars backdrop, and helped to bring out the red hues.

All around, another beautiful table setting, and dare I say it has hints of a holiday table? The season is coming!
