Weekly Table Setting: A French Influence

Throughout the course of the summer, we have spent a lot of time highlighting color - big, bold hues with tons of pop. Today, we've taken it down several notches, with this soft, subtle setting and a touch of French influence.

The dinnerware featured here is from the French porcelain brand Pillivuyt, which has a crisp, clean aesthetic. Paired with a smattering of other pieces, it works together just so, and creates a really pleasant, cohesive setting.

Underneath the dinnerware, we used these dynamic Chilewich Basketweave Rectangular Placemats in White & Black. We also included the David Mellor Embassy Flatware for a touch of stainless steel flair, and pleasing contrast.

For glassware, we used two pieces from the Schott Zwiesel Pure collection, the Long Drink and the Cabernet Glass. Both are fairly versatile - the long drink glass great for anything from ice water to a summer spritzer.

In the center of the table, we filled an Alessi Dressed Tray with an assortment of items, including a Pillivuyt Porcelain Covered Butter Tray, two Simon Pearce Royalton Appetizer Plates with the Ruffle design, and a duo from the Sabre Tortoise collection, the Small Cheese Knife and the Butter Spreader. We also placed a Sabre Old Fashioned Tea Spoon in Aubergine at the top of each setting.

Overall, a change from the usual lately, but we really like it. In the coming weeks, you can expect to see some heartier fall colors working their way back in - can't believe it's almost the season!
