Design Home Review: Porch

Now that the outdoor furniture buying season is (almost) upon us, we wanted to share with you the final images from our contributions to the Boston Magazine 2012 Design Home. We've shown you our products in the kitchen (tableware and cookware), dining room, and boy's room, but today we're sharing some images of the glassed in porch. This all-weather room has loads of appeal, it's the kind of place you could sit down for a meal or plop down with a book and waste away the afternoon. With the deck directly off of it, and the beautifully landscaped property just beyond that, it offers a stunning view and ultimate comfort.

We brought in two larger pieces of outdoor furniture to outfit this room, starting with this Barlow Tyrie Mercury Serving Table. On wheels for maximum functionality, this serving piece is just what you need for anytime entertaining. It has two shelves, two drawers, a solid serving workspace on top, and two serving boards that slide out for use when you want them. It's definitely a favorite piece for us.

Atop the serving table, we featured an array of glasses from the iittala Aarne Glassware Collection, which includes beer, highball, red wine, old fashioned, cocktail, champagne and cordial glasses. They have a simple, modern aesthetic and are extremely versatile.

We also had a few Frascati Linen Cocktail Napkins in Flax to act in place of traditional coasters, and a Schott Zwiesel Basic Bar Boston Shaker for crafting the perfect cocktail.

In the center of the main dining table, we had this ornate iittala Ultima Thule Ice-Lip Pitcher. This ornate glass pitcher doubles as a stunning centerpiece when not in use, and we placed it atop a rustic wood slab to make it even more of a showpiece.

The teak dining table we picked was the Barlow Tyrie Equinox Extending Table, and that was accompanied by Barlow Tyrie Equinox Stacking Armchairs with Teak Armrests. The outdoor furniture pieces worked perfectly in this multi-season room.

For dinnerware, we picked pieces from our French line Jars Ceramics. From the Vuelta Collection we had a Dinner Plate and a Dessert Plate, and a Fruit Bowl from the Plume collection. The flatware featured was the iittala Tools Piano 5-piece Setting, which has a nice modern appeal with rounded edges and smooth, straight lines. The glassware also came from iittala, this time the Essence collection.

To cover the table, we picked very neutral Chilewich Lattice Tablemats in white, and Libeco Home Polylin Blend Napkins in Corn, a warm and vibrant yellow.

This room really had a wonderful feel - cozy, comfortable, and a tad bit indulgent. Because there wasn't much representation from other brands on the porch, it really let our brand shine through, which was fun to see!

The last part of the home which we contributed product to was the desk - saving the biggest and best for last! The grand wrap-around porch was the perfect canvas for one of our most impressive pieces of furniture. Find out what it is in our final Design Home review post!
