Helsinki Design Week
Last week was Design Week in Helsinki, Finland. Now in its sixth year, this city-wide event, encompassing design, architecture and fashion has evolved into a local phenomenon. The Finns are passionate about design and they believe that "design is something for everyone, and it belongs to everyone". This year the event's theme was story telling and the focus was on the story behind the creation of the design. One aspect of the event was a store window installation across downtown Helsinki. Here you can see Finnish creativity in action.
Didriks carries a variety of items designed by Finnish designers including Alvar Alto, Timo Sarpeneva, and Tapio Wirkkala.
