Spencer Peterman 15" Oval Spalted bowl

Spencer Peterman is a local woodworker based in Gill, MA, who turns fallen trees into bowls and boards of beauty. This wood, called 'ambrosia' or 'spalted', is in the early stages of decay but not yet structurally unsound, and develops stunning, distinctive patterns.

Spencer Peteman's pieces are food safe (treated with beeswax and mineral oil) and available in a number of shapes and sizes. He also turns bowls and boards from cherry and black walnut. Each piece has it's own signature patterns, sometimes featuring a spectacular burl or rugged raw edge. Whether for salad or presentation, these bowls add a stunning organic touch to any home.
