Fall 2014 Cocktail Series: A Classic Manhattan
It's not often that we have occasion to work directly with bartenders and our barware to craft beautiful and scrumptious cocktails. Recently, however, we had an opportunity to partner with nearby Nubar for a cocktail photo shoot, and to try out some of their signature drinks.
Over the course of the next few weeks, we'll be sharing a glass and it's accompanying cocktail each week. To start, we're featuring an old favorite in the glassware department, paired with a very classic cocktail. This Simon Pearce Geo Stemless Martini Glass is paired with a basic Manhattan. We picked this glass and this cocktail for their classic pairing, and also because it wonderfully showcases the iconic cherry at the bottom of the glass. It's simple and timeless.
Classic Manhattan
2 oz bourbon
1 oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Cherry, for garnish
Stir ingredients and ice in a mixing glass with a long bar spoon, strain into a chilled glass, and garnish with a cherry.
