Weekly Table Setting: Concrete and Carbon
This week's setting has a pretty minimalist feel, accented with a beautiful, warm and rustic board in the center of the table. The matching table running and round placemats is a bit of a play on the more traditional place settings, which adds a fun new element to this otherwise simple and subdued setting.
The Table Runner and Round Placemat both hail from the Chilewich Basketweave Collection, and are both shown here in the color Carbon.
Each setting started with a Libeco Home Frascati Linen Napkin in Gray, which was draped over the placemats. Stacked on top of that was the Jars Ceramics Vuelta Dinner Plate in White and the Jars Ceramics Poeme Soup Bowl in Neige. Flatware came from the Sabre Nature Flatware Collection, and is shown in Natural.
We used Simon Pearce Norwich Beaker for glassware, and placed each one on a Culinarium Small Hexagonal Coaster in Gray. These coasters are made locally (in Newburyport, MA) from recycled concrete, and are a really interesting and unique product.
In the center of the table, we covered a Spencer Peterman wood board with a variety of candlesticks and vases. The tall, bulbous candlesticks were from the Simon Pearce Hartland Collection, shown in both small and large. For vases, we used the Heath Ceramics Bud Vase in Indigo, the Simon Pearce Barre Glass Vase (small), and the Simon Pearce Chelsea Optic Posy Vase.
