The staff at Didriks hopes you all enjoy a wonderful long holiday weekend. It is hard to believe that the summer is winding down and fall is quickly approaching. Here are some colorful pieces from Jars Ceramic that are perfect for transitioning your table from summer to fall.

Jars France Ceramics have been in production since 1857 in Provence, France. Their mission established by Pierre Jars is to turn every day objects into work of arts.  The functional is transformed into the beautiful. Mission accomplished!

In this video Martha Stewart visits with Edith Heath the founder and driving force behind Heath Ceramics.   Edith’s vision was to create beautiful pieces to be used everyday and she has been doing this for over fifty years.  Edith has deliberately kept her manufacturing process small scale so the hand made quality of the pieces are maintained. This video gives you a true appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into each Heath piece.

Produce is really at its peak here in Cambridge and we are enjoying the bounty from our local farmer’s market.  It is such a pleasure to buy locally grown produce direct from the source.  You can easily create an easy and delicious meal with very little effort if you start off with produce at the peak of flavor.

If you are shopping at the farmers market don’t start with a set recipe in mind.  Take a quick look at what looks good that day and work your menu from there.  Many markets even have local breads, cheeses and farm raised meats so you can do some one stop shopping.

Here are some farmer’s markets in Cambridge but you could easily find a local market with a google search.
