Last week, we shared the lovely table from our most recent Dinner Series 30, but the table was just the beginning. For this dinner extravaganza, Alex and Laura Jean created small vignettes around the room, to create a whole dining space, not just a single table. They did a beautiful job tying the vignettes together to create a unified theme, which you can read more about on this Didriks blog post.

Today, we've got some photos of the vignettes themselves to share. The first vignette was set-up on a side table brought in by Nicole and Laura Jean from Observatory Boutique, which served as the sideboard for the evening. It was used to serve the appetizers, and also to play host to one of the beautiful bouquets that Laura Jean put together.

Atop the sideboard, we placed several items from Didriks, some purely for display, others for serving the evening's eats. To the left, Laura Jean arranged a beautiful bouquet in one of our  Spencer Peterman Oval Spalted Bowls, which was a unique way to utilize the beautiful handmade wooden bowl. Next to that was another Spencer Peterman item, a Peterman Spalted Bread Tray, which held our crostini (recipe coming next week!). There was also a Simon Pearce Woodstock Pitcher filled with water, a stack of Simon Pearce Woodbury Round Appetizer Plate in Birch Oxide, and a Simon Pearce Pure Oxide Rim Bowl.

Here's a close-up shot of the Simon Pearce Pure Oxide Rim Bowl, filled with citrus, which was the theme of the evening's menu. Alongside it, we stacked iittala Dewdrop Footed Bowls in Forest Green.

Here's a closer look at the Spencer Peterman Oval Spalted Bowl, filled with flowers and overflowing greenery. To be sure we weren't harming the wooden bowl, we lined it with cellophane before filling with flowers.

The next vignette featured this stunning re-purposed church window from Observatory Boutique, which added so much to the space. It was flanked by two antique leather chairs from Reside, with a funky multi-leg table between them.

We set one of our  iittala Vitriini Large Boxes in Grey on the table, and filled it with roses for some color. We also included a couple of candles to add to the ambiance.

To wrap it up, I wanted to include this neat photo that our photographer Nate shot, of our guests enjoying conversation before dinner. This mirror, and the one in the photo, are both from Observatory as well.

This new approach to staging a whole dining room space was such a wonderful change from what we normally do, and we were so pleased with the outcome. Next week, I'll share our final Dinner 30 post featuring the menu!
