Last but not least is the king of breakfast ((the king of any meal in my book)), the mighty bacon. I like it crispy, I like it floppy, I like it in sandwiches, on a heaping plate all by itself. I even like it in my chocolate. Try it before you diss it. To add a bit of whimsy to this breakfast favorite, Melissa served the crisp bacon in the Revol Recycled Pack of White Cappuccino cups. These porcelain cups look like a slightly crumpled plastic cup. So playful. Who could resist bacon served in a cup! Would could resist bacon served in a cup that looks disposable but not! It totally plays with your expectations and to your delight. Check out the smile on Oliver with his cup of bacon. His cups running over.
Bacon! In a cup! Serves 8
- 2 pounds of fairly thick cut bacon. Make sure it's not sliced too thin or small.
- On medium heat, cook each slice so that it lays completely flat while on the pan. Don't pile the bacon on top of the other or else it might not fry in a flat shape you need.
- Lay the cooked bacon on the wire rack placed over a baking sheet to let the fat drain and to keep it's flat shape.
- Once cooled, stuff them into cups and serve!
