Thank You!

A big thank you to all of our customers who shopped during the month of February.  As you know, 5% of our February sales were donated to Food for Free.  We were happy to support this worthy cause. Food For Free responds to local hunger by rescuing fresh food that might otherwise go to waste and distributing it within the emergency food system, where it can reach those in need. Food For Freeʼs Produce Rescue program distributes fresh fruits and vegetables to 60 food programs that collectively serve about 20,000 individuals. Programs served include food pantries, emergency shelters, meal programs, clinics and youth  centers. Food For Free distributed 875,000 pounds of food in 2009.

Food For Freeʼs other programs are Home Delivery, which provides monthly deliveries of food to low-income seniors and people with disabilities, and Field of Greens, which grows organic vegetables for distribution to emergency food programs.
